AMELDA WILDE
Set in a garden of wildflowers, Amelda Wilde’s 1930s home in Victoria has all the elements of a fairytale. The interior designer’s office is in the original section of the California bungalow, taking in the floral aspect while being a space for creative focus. Here, Amelda’s signature style blends Arts and Crafts revivalism with meta-modernism. “I wanted to retain the cosy atmosphere with small doses of playfulness,” she says. A Morris & Co wallpaper called Montreal in Charcoal/Bronze cocoons the room, which has a restrained material palette of timber and brass highlighting original features such as the fireplace. Handcrafted objects, including Amelda’s art and ceramics, work to enhance the moody yet whimsical ambience. “My home is filled with treasures and special moments that make me happy,” she adds. Amelda Wilde Interior Design is at ameldawilde.com.au and @ameldawilde
